Mr. Benson grew up in Southern California in Los Angeles County. After graduating from college he went on to work for a number of private companies such as Tower Records, Wells Fargo, an REO Asset Management firm and Yamaha Motorsports. After a decade in the private field he returned to California State University of Long Beach to obtain his Teaching Credential in Social Studies. He began teaching high school in Glendale, California before relocating to Oregon to help out his family and discover the world of alpacas. He returned to California to teach at Amador Valley High School in 2016. He has experience in teaching U.S. Government, U.S. History, World History, A.P. Human Geography, and Global Studies. In his free time he enjoys reading, listening to lectures, playing board games and taking photographs.
